Adam is a passionate Internet technologist, pioneer and advocate, with over 25 years of experience & research in human-centred technologies.

Adam was technical manager of Australia’s first national ISP, co-founder of the Australian chapter of the Internet Society & founder of Europe’s first open community wireless network. He designed the most recent version of the Pocket FM emergency communication system deployed in crisis areas & IDP camps in the Middle East and Africa. He has engaged in EU research/innovation as technical lead, including: enabling urban circularity with Material Passports (H2020 REFLOW); advancing distributed design with provenance, attribution of contributions & Digital Product Passports (EFRA Interfacer); enabling secure, dynamic cryptographic autonomy with DNS names on the Internet (Open Knowledge Foundation Prototype Fund). Published, interviewed, filmed and quoted in numerous publications and documentaries (including Sarai Reader & Steal This Film 2), he is an advocate for open source as well as open and equitable access. He also has appeared in or provided voice-overs for a number of science fiction and technopolitical satire productions. Adam currently works with the Dyne.org foundation on a variety of projects, maintains Raspberry Pi images for the Devuan Linux distribution, and co-hosts a podcast.
