Karin De Boer is a creative producer and former line producer developing Barrio Fuente — a rural laboratory in Andalusia where art and imagination help regenerate land and community. She has more than 30 years of experience in international film and cultural production.
After working across Europe and beyond as a line producer and production partner, she founded The Tulips Productions, a Spain-based company offering space and support for international filmmakers working in Andalusia.
She now focuses on Barrio Fuente — a long-term initiative transforming an abandoned hamlet into a small-scale living environment for creative and cultural exploration. She began restoring an abandoned ruin in 1996
Barrio Fuente will offer space to artists, writers, filmmakers, and researchers who — individually or in small groups — explore and experience ancient knowledge, local traditions, and forms of small-scale community life.
Through residencies, workshops, and other projects, they can rediscover what it means to live and create in dialogue with the elements, and reflect on how small communities might once again be valued as places of connection, creativity, and sustainable renewal in a changing world.
