National inauguration part I - presentation of the Cultural Resilience Lab in Nowa Huta during the co-Congress of Culture
The inauguration of the Real-World Laboratory in Nowa Huta will take place over a series of three events during the month of November. It will kick off with a presentation at the 2024 Co-Congress of Culture.
A Real World Lab is a research space where innovations and solutions are tested directly in real conditions, with the participation of local communities and institutions, in order to respond to real social, ecological and economic challenges. The Cultural Resilience Lab in Nowa Huta begins its operations in November 2024 as part of the PACESETTERS project and will be run by the Norwid Culture Centre in Krakow. The Nowa Huta Lab will examine how culture and art can help build community and better cope with crises such as climate change, pandemics and the refugee experience. Important contexts in this case are the climate crisis and social changes in Nowa Huta (new residents from Ukraine and other countries). Local partners: Cyprian Kamil Norwid Culture Centre in Krakow, Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow.
